Copps Monopoly Shop Play & Win “Rare” game pieces

Copps is two weeks in to it’s Shop Play and Win Monopoly Collect & Win Game .  Everyone that I personally know who is collecting the tickets has pretty much filled their board except for one item in each category.

It occurred to me that we might want to compare notes on what the “rare” game pieces seem to be.

This is by no means scientific, just compiled from information provided to me by friends and family:

Do you have any of the “rare” pieces? If so, which ones?

Knowing that the game board is being used not only for Roundy’s owned Copps but for their Pick-N-Save, Rainbow Foods and Metro Market stores, the chances of getting “Willy Wonka’s” golden tickets are pretty slim. And even though I personally am not spending the time and effort to put together a game board, I’d love to hear about it if you win and I’m sure the other readers of Green Bay Consumer would too!

  2. I only need a few pieces too and I even have friends giving me theirs…I think its a lost cause they probably only have a few select finishing pieces

  4. I have y102 and yes i completed that and have a $2 winner:) wheeee! i also won a can of chef boyardee pasta. I shop at 2 different pick and save stores here in milwaukee. I thought you could go by the back of the game piece to know what you get, which is kinda true, except they do change one of the pieces of four every once in a while. the coupons are the things that change the most.

  6. My “missing pieces” are exactly as you’ve listed above. So yes, I’d say your assessment of rare pieces is correct. We figured we won’t win, but it gives the kids something to look forward to after shopping and we’ve told them if we do win, they get to share in the winnings.

  8. Do any of you happen to have the game pieces E123 or E124? I have many of the game pieces not mentioned in this thread and am willing to trade for them.

  10. I concur with this list. We have every piece except for the rare ones.

  12. I just read the rules of the game and there are 60 MILLION game pieces being handed out throughout all the Roundys stores participating in the promotion. Talk about a needle in a haystack!

  20. The fine print of the rules states that along with the key piece needed to win a prize group, there are also semi-rare pieces printed at frequency of 1/5,000. This is why we see 2 gaps of confirmed pieces in prize groups A-G. It’s a trick to greatly reduce the chances that top tier prizes will actually be awarded. We need data on those rare pieces in groups A-G. If you can confirm any of those pieces, please post.

  21. Michelle on Thu, 7th Jul 2011 11:01 am
  22. Pretty much what I have found on my monopoly board and is verified with the above missing pieces, the lower amount of the prize only has 1 rare piece. The higher the prize, there are 2 rare pieces. So even if you are lucky to get 1 of the rare pieces for the higher prize, you have to be even luckier to get the second rare piece. What a crock! I wouldn’t count on winning pretty much anything.

  23. JohnnyX on Thu, 7th Jul 2011 2:02 pm
  24. Yes, Michelle, it is a “crock,” very much a ploy by the contest administrators to avoid awarding top-tier prizes (A-G), but THERE IS HOPE. I have created a thread on the web site hotcouponworld where I am tracking all the rare pieces data people send in.

    http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/copps-picknsave-rainbow/421453-monopoly-game-rare-semi-rare-pieces-identified-your-help-data-needed.html

If we can get enough data, we can “stick it to the man” by confirming which are the actual key pieces. If you know you have a key piece, then you can use your own resources (money, trading, etc.) to obtain the semi-rare piece. The key is getting enough data in the first place, so please, EVERYONE POST ANY CONFIRMATIONS OF THE RARE MARKERS (OF A-G) IN YOUR POSSESSION.

  28. Thanks for the list of rare pieces. It is a total crock about the semi rare pieces. That makes the odds MUCH worse!! Now at least I can just open my pieces and compare to the list of rare pieces (saves time)

  30. Hi!
This game must have different pieces given out by where you live because I’m in Milwaukee, WI and I have every single piece that you list as “hard to find”! Maybe we should combine our pieces! :)

  31. melissa on Mon, 11th Jul 2011 12:37 am
  32. ok so jodi what store is it that u shop at to get the hard to find pieces cuz i have gone to almost every store in milwaukee n i still havent found ne on that list i have all the other pieces…

  36. Just wondering if your list of rare pieces are from people who mostly shop at the copps on Lombardi in green bay? I am missing the same ones you have listed and might consider going to a different store today … My 6 yr old loves to help me match up the game pieces to the game board but it seems that I have filled up everything I can due to the odds.

  37. Andy on Wed, 13th Jul 2011 8:30 pm
  38. Michelle, I was wondering what piece you don’t have for the house because I have one of the rare ones (a102).

  39. Sarah on Wed, 13th Jul 2011 11:13 pm
  40. Yep, mine looks exactly like that. I am assuming that more of the “rare” pieces will show up in the end. I have been making 1X per week trips (on double coupon days) to Pick ‘N Save and have gotten something every time. Last week it was one or two new ones of my dozen or so pieces, and this week it was four which got me up to exactly the same pieces you are missing. It’s frustrating to be so close on all of the categories, and JUST BE MISSING ONE!

  41. JohnnyX on Thu, 14th Jul 2011 10:11 am
  42. A106 is the KEY piece for the $250K house. I posted updates in the hotcouponworld thread (linked in my post above). I am closing in on discovering which are the key pieces for other prize groups as well but need your help. Please post any of the rare/semi-rare pieces from prize groups A-G.

    Any ideas?

  77. Candy on Fri, 22nd Jul 2011 3:54 pm
  78. By there being only one A106, you never know if it’s in circulation yet, if it would be/was given to someone actually playing the game, or if it will be one of the ‘leftovers’ after the duration of the game has ended. Ideally, I think if there were more than one rare piece, whoever gets there to claim the prize first would win it. But now that I think about it, there could be issues with that too. The way they have it now, I think it’s more unlikely that someone will win it, than not. But still very possible!!! Stay encouraged IWANNWIN70! :)

  87. heather on Tue, 26th Jul 2011 11:25 am
  88. We need to get all the pieces into circulation. How many of you are taking advantage of ‘No Purchase Necessary’ and asking for game pieces without shopping? IF you have a list of errands to run why not check to see if there are stores along your route and make a 10 minute detour to the Customer Service desk of as many stores as you can?!? I AM NOT suggesting that people make a separate trip with the sole intent of collecting game pieces. No need to colg traffic or waste gas, right?
    :p

  89. Candy on Tue, 26th Jul 2011 1:48 pm
  90. Sounds like a great idea Heather. Have you done this before? I thought I read somewhere that you have to mail in a request to get a ‘free’ one. If not, I could stop at 3 different Pick ‘n Saves everyday in my vicinity. I like your idea of getting them all in to circulation, because it would be terrible if we get to the last day of playing and the store still has major game markers piled up! Not to mention all of those winning game markers!! Enjoy your day!

  112. Its SO late and just went through all my pieces pretty much all at once. (hubby came out and asked WHAT in the world i was doing). I have a 102 and a 123 (house and car) which I assume are the semi rares?. I had NO idea they were doubling up on the rare ones so as not to pay out the big ones. That is SO unfair! I really thought everyone had a chance, but this sure limits the possibility. Jeesh. we have a big family and drop probably a grand a month at Pick n Save. and all we won was a lousy can of shaving cream and a few “instant wins ” to get more LOSER pieces. So glad to hear that some have won at least $100. Way to go!

  142. Ok, Mike has A106 and a couple of people have A102. Has anyone come to any agreement about trading/selling those pieces? If not, the house prize would end up being wasted…

So, if that is the case, instead of letting the house go unawarded, would the parties consider donating those two pieces to a single mom who has been unemployed for 4 months and gets only $200/mo child support? (My rent is $900/mo –a cheaper 2BR in Minneapolis would be infested and in a BAD neighborhood– so we could really use a house!)

  143. Candy on Tue, 30th Aug 2011 1:36 pm
  144. Laura, I wish you well! It’s a tough economy for everyone right now – stay encouraged! It would be nice if those who have the markers would considered doing what you ask vs. letting the house go unclaimed. Praying for a turnaround for you and your little ones! God bless!

We have had tough times too in our family, disability and my husband’s job cut all the way to half, and a surprise pregnancy in the family.., but I think I read that you could forego the prizes for an account to draw from the stores for food. Can you IMAGINE how great this would be to fill the food banks in our state this year?. I think I saw a post about how low they are. How there are little kids in OUR country, in OUR state, in OUR counties and towns and villages who are hungry. And that is a sad thing in our country when so many people have fancy homes, drive 30K vehicles and their kids have all the latest tech toys and designer clothing a needy kid would only dream of. I say we pool and give it all away and spread it all around instead of gifting ‘things’ to just a few people. The basic necessities are what every family and especially children deserve. Let’s feed them!

  166. So tickets are done being given out but redemption lasts until the 16th of September. I was able to redeem the X monopoly game and won $5.00 cash. With that they list 5,000 prices available in the X Category. My list of needed pieces matches the RARE list exactly. I think most of the monopoly available prizes will NOT be given out because of the impossibilities of gaining all the winning game pieces. to even win the X game I had to collect X197 X198 X199 and X200. The other best prize that I won was a Palermos Pizza which was valued at more than the $5.00 winnings of the X game. Good luck to all of you playing the game, it was fun while it lasted but I spent a lot of time opeing the tickets and not winning. Other than the pizza and the $5.00, I had instant wins of 2 Kraft Ranch dressing 8 oz size and two Pillsbury frosting and some fresh broccoli and a bag of extra sweet frozen corn. OK again it was fun while it lasted. = ]

  176. YOU DO NEED TO BUY LAND IF YOU WIN THE HOUSE, AND THAT WILL COST ANOTHER 100K OR MORE. SO PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE A106, PLEASE E-MAIL ME. kimolsen4155@att.net

  178. We have land but not ready to build for a good 8 years. I’d take the the cash for food instead. That would feed our fam for a good LONG time. And maybe even be able to have a good steak now and then. LOL!

Isn’t there only ONE 106 available? Id think they would not have printed more than one or there would be quite a fight to collect when there is only one “dream house” as a prize.

  180. I have G132—–anyone have G133?

  181. Virginia Haas on Sat, 3rd Sep 2011 6:34 pm
  182. I have devoted a lot of time on this game-haven’t won so much as 2 dollars :(

  184. I have G133, but not G132.

  186. Hi Kim,

If you are willing and able to pay $125,000 for A106 and $100,000 for the land, you’re already a winner! :)

  188. @Harmony Tiffany – I do have G133

  189. Kim on Thu, 8th Sep 2011 10:35 am
  190. I also need B110, and willing to go half. I came upon another rare piece B107.
I’m also waiting for someone to come forward with A106.
BETTER TO WIN HALF, THAN NOTHING AT ALL!!!
Please, before it’s to late. We have until the 16th, of Sept…

  191. Harmony Tiffany on Thu, 8th Sep 2011 10:24 pm
  192. Candy, if you still have G133, e-mail me at tiffah65@uwosh.edu and we can try to work something out for splitting the winnings.I know I could use $2,500 right now to cover some of my grad school costs for my nursing degree.

  193. John on Sun, 18th Sep 2011 7:48 pm
  194. People, stop begging for A106. That piece is one in 60 million and the person who has it has no reason to split half the prize with someone who has the much less rare A102…especially a stranger they’ve never met. These sob stories are ridiculous.

  195. Eileen on Mon, 11th Jun 2012 2:45 pm
  196. Hmmm…that would be a trick since those are the old numbers from 2011 for the house. The A numbers this time is for $5 in cash and there is not an A102 at all. No tax burden. LOL. You must have old numbers that are obviously expired. The new game started maybe a month ago for 2012?

  198. Is anyone tracking this year’s Monopoly game at Copps, Marianos, pick&save

  199. Eileen on Wed, 13th Jun 2012 2:03 pm
  200. I’ve been looking for any charting of the rare and semi rare pieces too. We don’t have our board even half full yet, so we do not know what pieces are the “winners’. Last year we came back with NADA and spent over 3K for the winning period (reg. groceries, grad and family parties, cleaning supplies, etc) Hope everyone that was on the board last year will have better luck this year.

I am assuming these are the rare ones for my board. I only have a handful that need just one more match so they must be the ones. I am listing the ones that we only have one more to match. This is what I need so assume they ARE the rare ones needed.

    A 606 $5
    D 592 50 cash
    E 588 50 groceries
    F 584 100 cash
    G 582 100 groceries
    J 570 500 groceries
    K. 567 iPad
    M 557 Iphone

All others are barely filled at our house. For the house, I think we only have two matches and still need 4… yeah…Longshot! And all others, are missing 2 or 3 matches.

Hope this might help you some! Good luck Jay, and let us know if you have others you know are the rare ones. thanks!
