12/12/12 “Aaron Rodgers Day” in Wisconsin
In case you were under a rock today, the Wisconsin Assembly had some “fun” business at hand. They passed a resolution making December 12, 2012 Aaron Rodgers Day, in honor of our MVP quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
The reason I wanted to bring this up is because there is a Facebook page called “Let’s Make 12/12/12 “Aaron Rodgers Day”. It’s run by Jennifer Brilowski, a Stephens Point native who sums up her page this way:
“Started on a whim, now staying for a cause. Let’s have some fun, support #12, and maybe do some good things along the way!”
Jennifer turned her fun little page into a way to raise money for the MACC Fund, a cause that Aaron Rodgers supports. The MACC Fund is dedicated to funding childhood cancer and related blood disorder research. Jennifer’s page reminds me a little of myself but on a grander scale, of course. What started out as me sharing my great finds with friends has become my way of helping others save money and pay it forward along the way, too.
And while we’re on the subject of #12…
My childhood friend Erica is a diehard Packers fan. You know, the kind that got green and gold rubber bands for their braces and if you cut a vein, you would swear they bled green and gold? Erica currently lives in Arizona but is a flight attendant that travels all over the U.S. Just the other day she had the shock of her life:
“Had the Quarterback MVP of our beloved Green Bay Packers on my flight down to Cabo San Lucas Mexico… Aaron Rodgers is by far the most nicest guy, very humble and very gracious…”
I wouldn’t have expected anything different. And yes, I poached the picture of Aaron from my friend Erica’s Facebook profile.
Congratulations to Aaron Rodgers on another great honor!
