Packers vs. Police Charity basketball game May 17th
Oh, sudden flashbacks of watching Packers and Donkey Ball in the Southwest High gym are filling my head right now. Well, the donkeys are gone but the Packers players are back for a charity basketball game against members of the Green Bay Police force.
You can catch all the action of this fun-filled basketball game Thursday, May 17th at my alma mater, Green Bay Southwest High, located on Packerland Drive, of course! Tip off is 7pm.
Tickets are just $5.00 each and can be purchased at the Southwest High School main office or at the Green Bay Police Department.
It’s not known which players will participate in the game, but two years ago, James Jones, Jermichael Finley and Jordy Nelson were part of the team. Players will sign autographs during halftime.
And that’s not all. Besides the basketball game, there will be lots of fun activities and giveaways provided by local retailers that have been coordinated by the sports marketing program at Southwest High School. I’ve heard that there’s going to be a bazooka shooting tee shirts into the crowd. Who doesn’t love those?
Proceeds from the basketball game go to The Green Bay Police Benevolent and Protective Association. It’s is a fraternal organization made of active and retired sworn law enforcement officers of the Green Bay Police Department. The organization was created to establish off duty activity and camaraderie within the police workforce and to promote charity and good will within the community.
