Plan your Wisconsin getaway
I think I’ve seen just about every Wisconsin landmark from the House on the Rock to the giant muskie at the Freshwater Fish Hall of Fame in Hayward. Which just goes to show that you don’t have to go far for a vacation.
My parents always had a huge vegetable garden that they tended every summer. Combine that with the fact that we didn’t have a ton of money, our summer travels were always short trips throughout the state of Wisconsin. Who needed to leave the state? My dad pointed out that I could tell my friends I went to Poland, Alaska, Columbus, etc. because we visited the Wisconsin towns with those names!
