Heritage Hill: Kids Free Week August 21 – 26
Tuesday, August 21 – Sunday August 26, 2012 is Kids Free Week at Heritage Hill. During Kids Free Week, children 17 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult (limit 4 children per adult). Admission for adults is $9 ($8 for seniors).
Hours: Tuesday Aug. 21-Saturday Aug. 25, 10am-4:30pm
Sunday Aug. 26th Noon-4:30pm
Every day includes self-guided tours of buildings and the chance to print an 1872 calendar (we did this at Laura Ingalls Wilder Days and the kids thought it was pretty cool).
There are also special activities planned for each day:
- Tuesday: join their Belgian farmer for carding wool, participate in a historic school lesson and learn about nature printing.
- Wednesday: grind wheat and coffee, march like a soldier, learn how to start a fire with flint and steal, and join the Franklin Hose Company bucket brigade.
- Thursday: join their Belgian farmer for carding wool, participate in a historic school lesson and learn about nature printing.
- Friday: grind wheat and coffee, march like a soldier, learn how to start a fire with flint and steal, and join the Franklin Hose Company bucket brigade.
- Saturday: join their Belgian farmer for carding wool, participate in a historic school lesson and learn about nature printing.
- Sunday: grind wheat and coffee, march like a soldier, learn how to start a fire with flint and steal, and join the Franklin Hose Company bucket brigade.
