New American Girl has Wisconsin connection

American Girl released a new historical doll today. Her name is Caroline Abbott, and she has a Wisconsin connection!

All six of the American Girl historical books written about Caroline were done by Kathleen Ernst, a Wisconsin author. Ernst has written several other American Girl books and a couple of adult mysteries set at Old World Wisconsin; my daughters and I had the pleasure of meeting her when she came to a book signing at Barnes & Noble last fall.  In fact, Ernst is doing a book signing at the Madison Barnes & Noble today to kick off the book series.

Meet Caroline: An American Girl (American Girls Collection) and subsequent books retail for $6.95. However, right now on Amazon.com, you can get Caroline’s Boxed Set with Game (American Girl) for $23.97 which is $3.99 a book + a game. Cool!

Amazon.com traditionally has better prices on the mini-dolls than the American Girl website. Caroline Mini Doll is $16.31 right now (MSRP $23.99). I much prefer these to the larger dolls, not only for storage, but much easier on the pocketbook, too!   Click here to see more American Girls mini-dolls or books.
