Where to find “healthy” deals & coupons

I once had a friend comment “I get frustrated couponing, because we eat so ‘twigs and berries’.”  She’s right in a way.  It is true that many coupons out there are for processed foods.  The good news is that every day there are more organic and healthy food choice coupons being released.  Also, more places in the Green Bay area are offering organic and natural products.

Locally

  • Festival Foods features Healthy Clippings coupon tear pads in their Natural Foods department.  The coupons are manufacturer coupons so they can be used anywhere.  That does not, however, give you license to take a tear pad and run to a different store.
  • Woodmans’ Natural and Organic Food section has not only a great selection but some of the best prices around.
  • Farmers Markets. Many sellers now have signs stating whether their produce was organically grown and their prices are usually pretty good, too.  Especially for items that just came out of the ground/off the vine, etc that morning.
  • Big Lots often carries organic pantry items.  Their cereals can run as low as $2.00 – $2.50 a box.  Check out my latest shopping trip.
  • Streu’s Pharmacy/Bay Natural Foods.
  • Want to eat out or grab a cup of coffee?  Try  Ogan, Plae Bistro,  Caffe Naturally, Chives, The Attic,  The Urban Frog, Kavarna, & Parisi’s Delicatessan to name a few.

Online

  • Vitacost.  Right now when you sign up you get a $10 credit.   For every friend that signs up through your referral link, you’ll get a $10 credit. There are no limits to the rewards you can earn.  Click here for more information.
  • Organic Deals is an awesome blog that does a great job highlighting the organic deals available on any given day, they have a list of which organic companies are offering printable coupons.
  • Money Saving Mom is another blog that is a good resource for organic deals.
  • Amazon.com.  Their Natural and Organic section can have GREAT deals on organics.  The one caveat is that you usually have to buy in quantities.  I’ve bought a 4-pack of red quinoa for $10 (that’s nearly the price of one bag of the same brand at Woodmans) , Bob’s Red Mill pancake mix for $2.00 a bag, Garden of Eatin’ Chips, Pirate’s Booty and Newman’s Own products from Amazon, too.
  • Target.  Yes, even Tar-jhay offers organic and natural coupons, both Store and Manufacturer coupons.

There you have it– resources for the “twigs and berries” crowd!
