Zaycon Foods is once again having several local deal events on boneless skinless chicken breasts when you buy in bulk.  Their next date for chicken is September 30.

• 100 % natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients
• Comes directly from the processor and has never been frozen
• Sold by the case — 40 lbs in each case ($1.84 lb)  One unit is $73.60

I bought 120 pounds of chicken last fall and split it up among family and friends.  When the spring delivery date came around, I waited too long to order and they were sold out, so this time I’m getting my order in plenty early!

  2. So, you have ordered from them before, but didn’t really say anything about the meat. Were you happy with the quality of the chicken? Was it tender? Was there much fat to trim? We eat tons of chicken, and this would be a great price for us to get a good amount.

  4. Yes, we were very pleased with the quality and that’s why I tried to order again in the spring. If I recall correctly, there was a little fat to trim but not too much. The breasts come attached (and are quite large) so before I froze the chicken in smaller packages, I separated them. I prefer Zaycon to the bags of flash frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts that occasionally go on sale.

  6. Thank you for the info. I used to buy the frozen breasts in the plastic bags, but then realized that after thawing and cooking out all the water, the weight was almost half of what I started with! So, this fresh stuff sounds like a better deal. I put in an order, so am looking forward to trying them out! Thanks for the info and link!
