Amazon.com now charging sales tax in Wisconsin
Have you purchased anything from Amazon the past few days? Did you notice that they are now collecting sales tax for Wisconsin?
The online retailer is opening a distribution facility in Kenosha which gives Amazon a physical presence in the state. Under the law, the state required Amazon to start collecting the taxes.
The new 5-percent tax on Amazon is expected to add about $30 million a year to Wisconsin’s state revenue.
