My November grocery budget

budgetDo you keep a strict record of your grocery spending? I’ve got to admit, I hadn’t kept really strict records of it in about 5 years!  I’ve always done it mentally.

This year I decided to keep track again.

Last month, I spent $342.15 on groceries for our family of six.

For November 2013, I spent $263.

My goal is to spend no more than $450/month over the course of the year.

How did you do last month?

  2. Honestly, how did you do that?! I would love to see your grocery list, and menus. I am ashamed to admit how much I spend. (And I keep track!!). Help!

  4. A weekly trip to Aldi and/or Kwik Trip to load up on produce and milk & bread, plus one $100 trip to Woodmans is all I did last month. The rest was just relying upon what I already had in our chest freezer like the 80 pounds of chicken I bought in September. There were some nights where I had to get creative for dinner because I didn’t want to go to the store, but overall we ate everything from lasagna to 10-grain pancakes to teriyaki chicken all based upon what we already had in the house.
