Need new glasses like me? Then one of today’s Groupon for Green Bay might be for you, too.
Wisconsin Vision is the company that signed a deal with former American Idol contestant Danny Gokey.
There are many locations in Wisconsin including Appleton and Green Bay.
As with any daily deal site, read all rules and restrictions before you buy.
Can you believe it? There’s another local deal site for people in the Green Bay area? DealKadu is in pre-launch mode right now. You can choose either Green Bay and Appleton vicinity or Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area.
How is this site different? Kadu is a dog that has been trained to sniff out deals (just go with it–if it means more opportunities for great deals, I’ll play the game). If you buy the deal, you will also be given a token in your account that can be used for another deal at that same business for a later visit. You also have the option of gifting that token or trading it with another member of DealKadu who DOES want it. You can read all about it HERE.
Right now you can also buy $20 of Kadu Kash for only $5. Kadu Kash can be used towards future deals offered on the site.
The only downside I see right now is that they only take PayPal as a form of payment.
Can’t wait to see what this site has to offer once it officially goes live.
One year ago today I set up shop on Facebook as The Bargain Sleuth as a way to stop annoying my Facebook friends who didn’t live in the Green Bay area with the deals I was posting. What a year it has been!

Thank you so much Colleen Dunkel, for my awesome logo. A few months after I started the Facebook page, I finally got around to getting my own logo (remember the picture of the baby in diapers with the Sherlock hat and magnifying glass?) I LOVE The Bargain Sleuth logo and hopefully when people think of me, they think of her very cool logo design.
I certainly never thought this many people would find out about my little blog, the Little Engine that Could, picking up a few fans each week thanks to old-fashioned word-of-mouth. Thank you to my fans for telling friends and family about The Bargain Sleuth, it shows that you think enough of what I post to tell others. I really do appreciate it. And I’ll keep doing my best to bring you the best of the best deals I see in the Green Bay area, mixed in with all the exceptional online deals I see, too.
And thanks to all the great “family” of bloggers I’ve gotten to “meet”: Shelly, Carrie, Jon, Jason, Mike & Lisa, Rose, Jill, Rita, Mary Jo and more. Thanks for the help, the ideas, and most importantly, the deals you send my way.
As I’ve mentioned before, with the first anniversary of my fifth “baby”, there are going to be some major changes, so stay tuned to see what’s in store!
I read a LOT of money-saving blogs and websites (currently at 60 on my RSS feed and who knows how many on my Facebook news feed, maybe 15-20 more). And sometimes I think to myself “Hey, they beat me to the punch–I wanted to write something about that!” Since I realize you don’t read 70-80 blogs and I dislike repeating what others have said, I thought I’d try posting a round-up of some of my favorite posts. A few are deals I’ve seen, but most are “food for thought” articles you might enjoy:
